Provision of biological resources: Provision of medicines and pharmaceutical products. Food for the human population and animals. Social benefits: Recreation and tourism, cultural value, education and research. Biodiversity in India: India is one of the most diverse nations in the world. It ranks 9’th in terms of plant species richness. 25 biodiversity hotspots found in India. It is the origin of important crop species such as pigeon pea, eggplant, cucumber, cotton and sesame and also the center of various domesticated species such as millets, cereals, legumes, vegetable, medicinal and aromatic crops. There are about 91000 animal species found in India. My small initiative to promote biodiversity through this eco friendly decoration. Ganesha idol is made from pot clay (shadu mati) and watercolor.
